You can't go wrong with frames that allow you to change out artwork with an insertable slot. My love of versatile decor is no secret, and these frames are perfect to display artwork in every room of your dollhouse. You can customize them any way you want to match the rest of your dollhouse. To purchase this DIY Kit, please click here. Let's get started with assembly.
Your kit includes everything you see in the above picture.
-3 backs, one in each size
-3 middle supports, one in each size
-3 frames, one in each size
You will need to supply the following items:
-glue (I prefer applying Mod Podge with a foam brush)
-220 grit sandpaper (optional)
-spray paint/stains in colors of your choice (optional)
This is a super easy tutorial. All 3 frames will take you less than 5 minutes. Check out the video above to see how to assemble the frames. Here are some tips:
Any glue will work, but I prefer to apply Mod Podge with a foam brush.
Don't use a ton of glue. If any seeps out when you press the frame together, just wipe it off with your finger before it dries.
Apply glue to the middle piece that only has 3 sides so you don't accidentally put glue on the open side where the artwork slides in.
Use a book to weigh down the frames while the glue dries.
After the glue is completely dry, sand off the burn marks from the lasercutter. Then, leave as is or you can paint or stain the frames.
I offer lots of artwork downloads that are specifically designed for the insertable frames. Click here to check them out. If your kid wants to try making his or her own artwork, here are the dimensions for each frame opening:
Large Rectangle: 2" x 1.5"
Small Rectangle: 1.5" x 1.125"
Square: 1" x 1"
I cannot wait to see your unique artwork. I'd love to see if your kiddo makes their own artwork to go in the frames, or you could even make a family photo gallery wall. Make sure to tag me on Instagram @mini.adventures.co to show me your gallery walls.
