My oldest daughter is absolutely terrible about leaving towels on the floor. It drives me bananas. Maybe she wouldn't do it so often if she had a cute towel rack like this, but let's be real: towels would still be on the floor. At least with this one, your dollhouse towels will be nice and tidy. This is, by far, the easiest DIY Kit I offer, and you can customize it any way you want it to match the rest of your dollhouse. To purchase this DIY Kit, please click here. You can also order the assembled version from the same link. Let's get started with assembly.
Your kit includes everything you see in the above picture.
-base
-long towel bar
-short towel bar
You will need to supply the following items:
-craft glue
-220 grit sandpaper (optional)
-spray paint/stains in colors of your choice
If you plan to stain or leave the towel rack unfinished, use a fine grit sandpaper to gently sand away the burn marks on each piece. I recommend staining before assembly; if you plan to spray paint the towel rack, do it after assembly.
Put a small drop of glue into each hole. The fit should be pretty snug so you can skip this step, but the finished product will be sturdier if you use glue. Insert the long towel bar into the holes spaced farthest apart (first picture). Use gentle but firm pressure. Repeat with the short towel bar (second picture).
If you plan to spray paint the towel rack, I recommend securing it to a piece of painters' tape (first picture) because it's so lightweight that it'll blow away from the force of the spray paint. Do 2-3 light, even coats of spray paint (second picture). If you're using a really light color like white, I recommend using a primer first; otherwise, the burn marks will seep through the spray paint over time. You don't need to worry about that with darker colors like gold.
Allow the towel rack to dry completely before using. See!? I told you that was a super easy assembly. You have a finished towel rack to organize those tiny towels. Make sure to tag me on Instagram @mini.adventures.co to show me how you customized your towel rack.
